On October 31, 1962, Bethel Baptist Church began in a small one-room schoolhouse located in East Rockhill Township. Under the leadership of Pastor Richard A. Harris, 28 faithful believers signed the church’s charter that autumn day.
For 39 years, Bethel grew under the guidance of Pastor Harris. Not only did the congregation outgrow the schoolhouse (and another auditorium built a few years later), but the church grew to what is now three campuses totaling approximately 50 acres.
Bethel was also able to start Upper Bucks Christian School in 1967, a ministry that has served Christian families in the region for decades, teaching a solid academic core from a biblical perspective. Today, UBCS graduates are serving the Lord literally around the globe.
Now, Bethel is led by Pastor Rob Campbell, who served for nine years as a youth pastor in the Denver, CO area before coming to our church in 2005. We continue to seek God’s guidance as He leads us step by step.
God’s Story
Of course, our story is just a small part of something much bigger: God’s great plan for the ages. We’re overjoyed that He has allowed us to join Him in His magnificent work. We hope you’ll consider participating with us as we serve Him gratefully. Find out how God’s story can become your story too.
